TIPS FOR EXHIBITORS

1. Allow yourself plenty of time to set up your exhibit.

2. Read your schedule well.  Make a list of flowers you plan to exhibit, complete as to lot number, as listed in schedule.

3. A specimen will not be judged if it has more or less stems, sprays, stalks, etc., than called for in the schedule.  GOOD SHOWMANSHIP can mean the difference between a blue and a white ribbon.

4. Specimens should be free of insect damage, dirt, blemishes, with attractive amount of foliage attached.  Remove all foliage below the waterline.

5. Hybrid tea roses and dahlias should be dis-budded 25 days before showtime

6. Blooms should be as identical in size, shape, etc. as possible if more than one is required.  Cut stems long enough to display flowers well.

7. Harden flowers.  Use a sharp knife to cut flowers.  Place immediately in warm water.  Keep  cool overnight.  (Hardened flowers and foliage make the best arrangements.)

8. Do not use soil to hold the materials in place when making a Design.  Use oasis or a pinholder or crushed wire screen in the container.

9. Functional Table Design , (A complete table setting on the table, no silverware).  Exhibition Table Design - (Creative display. Designer's  choice)

10.  Place your name inconspicuously on the bottom of property
