2012 Kanabec County Fair Demo Derby

 General Rules

1.      Drivers run at their own risk

2.    Drivers must be 16 years or older, drivers under 18 must have notarized written consent of parent or guardian.

3.      No one under the age of 16 allowed in the pit area – must have picture ID for proof of age.

4.     No drinking of alcoholic beverages before or during derby and no alcohol in pit area.

5.     Only derby vehicle and one tow vehicle in pits – no spectator parking in pit area.

6.    All cars not removed by 9:00 a.m. the following day will become property of the Kanabec County Fair.

7.     Drivers must wear a seat belt or harness, helmet, and eye protection at all times when operating vehicle – long sleeves or jacket and jeans are required, and/or fire suit is highly recommended.

8.      No hot rodding in the pits, keep it at an idle

9.      DO NOT hit the driver’s door – it sometimes happens, but if it looks intentional or careless (judges decision), you will be disqualified. Intentional use of driver’s door as a shield may result in a DQ.

10.  2 fires in one heat and you are done.

11. You are given 1 minute for an aggressive hit, 1 minute for restarts and 1 minute if you are hung up – being hit, hitting the wall, or hitting a disabled vehicle does not count. Final placing will be determined by last aggressive hit. If we have a tie for any placing, prize money will be added together and split in half, coin flip for trophies.

12. NO sandbagging or holding!!!!! You will be disqualified.

13. *All cars must enter North West Pit gate of fairgrounds, Gates Close one half hour before event. Pit will be open from 4:00p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for inspection.

14. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any and/or all latecomers.

15. Driver or pit person must be present during inspection

16. All drivers and crewmembers must attend the drivers meeting

17. Judges reserve the right to re-inspect and disqualify any vehicle during the event

18. Any harassment of Judges, or Kanabec County Fair officials by drivers or pit people, will result in disqualification and be banned from any further Kanabec County Fair sponsored event for 13 months.

19. Disqualification results in forfeiture of entry fee

20. Any driver protesting another vehicle in their class, must do so before the pit meeting. Officials will inspect the vehicle being protested and the vehicle of the person filing the protest. Any decision reached by the officials will be final. Derby officials reserve the right to re-inspect any vehicle, before, during or after the derby. There will be a protest Fee of $50.00! If nothing is found, $25.00 will go to protested vehicle driver, remaining $25 will be forfeited.

21. Any questions give us a call, if it doesn’t say you can do it, don’t do it – Call 1st.

22. ALL vehicles must have a FIRE EXTINGUISHER in their pit area. We will be checking! This is required by insurance and the fire department.

23. JUDGE’S DECISIONS ARE FINAL!
